The next generation of leaders

4

If you’re worried about the future of politics, I hope this conversation provides some hope and perspective.

is 25-year-old. She running for Congress from her border town in Arizona’s 7th Congressional District. She’s already proven her grit: she’s been homeless, watched a parent struggle with addiction, and worked nights at a gas station to support herself (and that was all just in high school). I’ll let her tell you about college and beyond. I particularly applaud Foxx’s unapologetic approach and advocacy for Planned Parenthood, starting when she was 16. (If you’ve read my memoir Combat Love, you know I share her affection for PP’s free services for teenage girls).

I’m removing the paywall on this conversation so everyone can tune in. Foxx is trying to win a special election this coming Tuesday, the 15th to fill the vacancy left by Raúl Grijalva’s death on March 13, 2025. Foxx makes the point that, on many levels, it wouldn’t hurt to have some younger people in Congress.

Also, that’s her real name.
