You all deserve commendation for giving Deja Foxx the platform to articulate her views on behalf of Gen Z and all voters. Thank you.
Deja is poised for a promising political career if she chooses to pursue that path. Inspired by figures like AOC, Jasmine Crockett, and Jared Moskowitz, she embodies the spirit of resilience and advocacy.
The attempt by the Trump administration to defund Planned Parenthood is no surprise. This initiative is embedded within a broader Republican tax and spending package that disproportionately favors the wealthy. The GOP has consistently shown that their priority is to dismantle progressive movements while serving the interests of the ultra-rich.
Gullibility and lack of critical thinking has become a hallmark of the Republican Party, woven into the fabric of their platform. After enduring countless lies from Trump, this gullibility is taken to the voting booth. It’s as if they’re offering free maps to their elusive principles.
Challenging the moral decay of the Trump regime and the GOP is a huge task, but I believe that younger generations are
ready to rise to this challenge. Together, they have the power to reshape the future.
She notes: “we are failing to platform strong messengers.” I would add “failing to platform strong messages.” I agree with most of what she said — but to this viewer and voter, the messaging is much as Vice President Harris’ messaging. “Trump policies bad.”
So stipulated. That was also a losing approach. I keep waiting — HOPING — for a platform that says what someone stands FOR, not just against. Former Mayor and Ambassador Rahm Emanuel has been in this regard — even though he is an old Democratic establishment guy…
+1 to Rob’s comment above, too. TikTok may be where 30+% of adults get their news; I’d like to see our political leaders consume a wide range of more reliable, credible journalism so that they are informed with a depth and breadth of information to help them formulate policy proposals.
After speaking to you after your presentation at the Westport Library, I took your advice and created a Substack platform at davidmeth.substack.com. Please take a look and pass it on. Thank you so much, Alisyn.

Aristotle way back in BC, compelling me to begin my Substack platform, JUSTICE IS A BLIND GODDESS, to confront the disturbing times in DC.
At the intersection of language, literature, politics and history, the title is taken from the poem by Langston Hughes. It challenges us to confront ignorance and apathy when the threats to our freedom and civil rights could not be more immediate or consequential.
Please subscribe to join our voices at: davidmeth.substack.com where I will post chapter based episodes once or twice each week. Subscriptions are free. However, if you would like to volunteer a paid subscription, it would be more than welcomed and very greatly appreciated because— as Voltaire predicted with frightening accuracy: “Those who can make you believe absurdities can make you commit atrocities.”
JUSTICE IS A BLIND GODDESS challenges how language, manipulation, and opportunism destroy truth and debase our rights, and violate the rule of law. How language is presented and perceived in this series examines principle and purpose. It scrutinizes the use of words to confront ideology and fight against the continuous smear of meaning to create fear and alienate people. JUSTICE IS A BLIND GODDESS goes back in time to see how today's destructive political vision seeks to mold people, betray ideals, and purge opposition that challenges authoritarianism and fascism. This series intends to stand up against the daily assault on common sense and truth as some of the greatest minds and writers in history are summoned from the past to speak to the present as they speak to us through literature and poetry from cultures here and abroad today.

Impressive young woman with a hell of a story.

She gets her news from Tick Tock but who does that person get it from, what's the source?
I feel better with CNN or The Times. Yes they make mistakes every now and then but I'm more confident in where it comes from
